A Christmas Carol
By: Charles Dickens
My Rating: FIVE out of FIVE stars
Best for: 12 and up
My first Dickens won’t by my last.
A Christmas Carol is charming, easy to read, and a lot of fun to read as the source material for so much of what “Christmas” has become. And under 100 pages? This will certainly become a new Christmas tradition.
If you haven’t read A Christmas Carol because you’re lame and uncultured like me, fix it.
It’s free. It’s short.
It’s wonderful.
Happy Reading!

Glad you enjoyed this so much. I really hope it spurs you on to more Dickens. I really enjoy Dickens. Not dissecting it, but just enjoying it.

It did! I think more Dickens in my future. What should I start with?

I really enjoyed Nicholas Nickleby, but it’s around the 1K mark, so might be a tad ambitious.
My next suggestion is the Pickwick Papers. Short stories and around 600 pages I believe. It is humorous though, so if the humor doesn’t fit your fancy, it won’t be for you.
