Assassin’s Apprentice (Farseer Trilogy, #1) by Robin Hobb

Intrigued…

I was excited to read Assassin’s Apprentice, the first book of the (seemingly) universally loved epic fantasy stories by Robin Hobb. I enjoyed it, but found it a bit slow for my lazy brain.

I suspect that this first story is mostly a setup for the future books–there were MANY topics touched on, but few topics resolved. As a stand alone novel I think I would feel a bit let down. But from the point of view that this is kicking of a series of something like 16 or 17 additional novels, this book accomplished its goal: I’m intrigued and committed.

Ferb, I know what we’re going to do this summer!
