The Witch’s Boy by Kelly Barnhill
A nice story, but that’s all…
The Witch’s Boy is a nice story, but that’s all it is.
The relationships seemed forced and the plot seemed rushed. It felt like it either needed to be twice as long to really fill in the gaps or half as long to just tell the story with out pretending the relationships had meaning.
The story is very sweet, even tender at times. I just wish it were a bit more. Perhaps its target audience–the Junior High Crowd–will be more forgiving!
