Sanderson Strikes Again…I just wish I didn’t have to wait so long for book 4!

The Skyward series is fantasy-standard-bearer Brandon Sanderson’s first foray into Science Fiction, and it’s pretty great. Turns out, it’s less Science Fiction and more Space Fantasy, but that’s absolutely okay. That’s how I’d classify Star Wars, too.

I liked book 1, Skyward (a lot), and I LOVED Starsight, book 2. I wanted a long time to for closure from the second book’s cliffhanger ending, and not that I’ve read book three, Cytonic, I’m feeling an odd mix of happy and sad: Cytonic was unexpected AND excellent…but it’s over now, and there was another un-Sanderson like cliff hanger. Book 4, Defiant, is still 2+ years away. So now I wait.

Again.

The story, the characters, the conflict…the EVERYTHING. Couldn’t put it down, white knuckles, mysteries to solve. I WANT MY CONCLUSION AND I WANT IT NOW!

That’s the only negative–wanting more. While Brandon Sanderson is the most prolific writer I know, he’s writing books like The Skyward series in between his tremendous (in size and quality) Stormlight Archives.

And I really hate waiting.

As much as I love Brandon Sanderson, I probably wish I would have waited until this series was finished before I started it.

But if that doesn’t bother you, this is truly good stuff. So jump right in.

No content issues, although the plot is a bit complex.
