Starsight (Skyward #2)
By: Brandon Sanderson
My Rating: FIVE out of FIVE stars
Best for: Advanced 12 and up
Skyward was Fantasy-standard-bearer Brandon Sanderson’s first foray into Science Fiction, and it was awesome. It turned out to be less Science Fiction and more Space Fantasy, but that’s absolutely okay. That’s how I’d classify Star Wars, too.
So if I liked Skyward (a lot), it’s easy to say I LOVED Starsight. The story, the characters, the conflict…the EVERYTHING. Couldn’t put it down, white knuckles, mysteries to solve, a killer cliff hanger. I WANT MORE!
That’s the only negative–wanting more. While Brandon Sanderson is the most prolific writer I know, we’re only two books out of four into this fantastic story. He’s writing books like Skyward and Starsight in between his tremendous (in size and quality) Stormlight Archives. All that to say, we’re not going to see book 3 until 2021 and book 4 until 2022.
I hate waiting, and after that cliff hanger…
As much as I love Brandon Sanderson, I probably wish I would have waited until this series was finished before I started it.
But if that doesn’t bother you, this is truly good stuff. So jump right in.
No content issues, although the plot is a bit complex.
Advanced 12 and up.
