Here are some additional recos from members of the Book Club:

My soon to be 14 year old would add (in the fantasy genre) ALL the Rick Riordan books-she LOVES Magnus Chase and Trials of Apollo (after reading Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus, of course. Otherwise, spoilers!). Also the Rick Riordan Presents imprint-she loves the Aru Shah series, and also Tristan Strong…I love that she is learning more about other cultures and histories. They aren’t very distopian, but…they are well loved around here.
I like Kaye Thornbrugh’s Flicker series (fairy/fey stuff). (Flicker, Brightly, and Lights). Also Rainbow Rowell’s Fangirl (they recently published a manga version), and its subsequent spinoff Simon Snow trilogy, 1) Carry On 2) Wayward Son and 3) Any Way the Wind Blows (coming out in July).
