Looking for clean book recommendations for my 13 boy. He’s an advanced reader. He likes long world building sci/fi fantasy type books. He likes authors like Brandon Sanderson, James Islington, Tolkien, Richard Paul Evans.

I’m going to assume he’s read Harry Potter and every Brandon Sanderson book (because there are a lot). If he hasn’t, start there. Also, I removed Sanderson, Evans, Tolkien, and Islington from this list because they all would have been on there otherwise!

Here are some I recommend for advanced 13 year old’s who love fantasy and ScyFy:

Chronicles of Prydain series by Lloyd Alexander*
Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer*
Wizard for Hire series by Obert Skye*
Faster Than Falling by Nathan Van Coops*
Jack Blank Adventure series by Matt Myklusch*
Nevermoor series by Jessica Townsend*
Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini*
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman*
Lockwood & Co series by Jonathan Stroud*
Bartimaeus series by Jonathan Stroud*
Leviathan series by Scott Westerfeld*
The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series by Michael Scott*
The Dragonback series by Timothy Zahn#
The Queen’s Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner*
The Riyria Revelations series by Michael J. Sullivan*
The Legend of Eli Monpress series by Rachel Aaron*
The Immortal Descendants series by April White*
The Great Library series by Rachel Cain*
Insignia series by S.J. Kincaid*
Scythe series by Neal Schusterman*
The Bern Saga series by Hugh Howey*
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams#
The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins*
Ender’s Game series by Orson Scott Card#
Ender’s Shadow series by Orson Scott Card#
Farseer Trilogy series by Robin Hobb*
Liveship Traders series by Robin Hobb*

These all are super fun, and they are all content appropriate. The further down the list you go, the more advanced they get, so there will be more grown up content at the end of the list than the beginning, but these are all books I’d be comfortable letting my 13 year old read.

Visit http://www.onemanbookclub.com for detailed content reviews for all of them.

Please let me know how else we can help! Good luck!
